I was introduced to Lizelle and Werner by a friend of theirs, who just so happens to be a Make-up Artist that I absolutely adore - Make-up by Monique. My first impression of them is that they are quiet and reserved but so cute together. So once plans were in place for me to photograph their wedding in March, we organised their engagement shoot. It was a perfect afternoon in early January and we met at Delta Park in Johannesburg, which is one of my favourite places for engagement photoshoots as it is peaceful and beautiful. Lizelle and Werner looked amazing, Lizelle had her make-up done by a friend for the occasion and looked beautiful in both outfits that she had brought with. They are such an amazing couple, who were instantly at ease even though they both don't like cameras, and made my job a pleasure by listening to everything I suggested. Thank you again to my wonderful assistant Sherrie for all of the hard work getting everything ready. This was one of those shoots where you can really feel the love between the couple. To Lizelle and Werner; you guys are lovely together and one of the sweetest couples I have met. I wish you both happiness in your life together and that your love continues to grow more every day. I am very excited to photograph your wedding next month! Love C & S XXX

I met this amazing couple, Evadne and Jerome at the Avianto expo in April last year, and I instantly knew there was something special about them! Evadne is such a bubbly and beautiful lady and perfectly compliments the handsome Jerome and I was very excited when they asked me to be their wedding photographer. A couple of venue changes later and we were ready to do their engagement shoot at the stunning Dainfern Country Club Golf Course. Jerome, being a keen golfer was ready to show us how to do the perfect swing, which I do not think will ever come naturally to both Sherrie (my amazing assistant) and myself! It was one of those shoots I will never forget, zooming around the course on a golf cart, praying the rain stayed away, and looking for the perfect sunset. Both Evadne and Jerome were up for a fun afternoon, and happily worked with us to get the perfect shots, and eagerly kissing whenever we asked them too! I wish the two of you all of the best in all of your future endeavors, and that your love grows exponentially during your lives together. It was amazing doing this engagement shoot with you and I can't wait for your wedding day! I met the lovely Annie in 2011, just after Stefan asked for her hand in marriage, and since then we have gotten to know each other pretty well during the planning of their big day. The date was a special one: 12/12/12, and I just knew this was going to be a different and fun wedding. The day started with really bad and rainy weather, and while all of us prayed for blue sky, the staff at Zambesi Point Wedding Venue put the final touches on the ceremony and reception. The sun came out as we arrived at Pillow and Spoon, and we were greeted by an excited but calm bride, a nervous groom and the chilled groomsmen. The count down began! We chased the grooms party away to the venue as soon as they were ready to prevent them seeing the bride. Final touches on the make-up and hair, slipping into the dress and the glamorous bride and bridesmaids emerged. The ceremony was very special, with Annie deciding to profess her love without the microphone, and Stefan whispering his vows in her ear. Mr and Mrs De Jager then walked down the aisle to loads of congratulations from their family and friends. We had an amazing couple shoot with some dramatic cloudy skies, and some very sexy shots before we joined the guests for a lovely dinner in the lapa. What really struck me about this wedding was the attention to detail, which was fun and refreshing! Annie and Stefan, thank you for including Sherrie (my wonderful hardworking assistant) and I in your special day. You truly do fit together "Soos n Puzzle", and I wish you all of the best for the future filled with lots of love that continues to grow. I was immediately struck by this couple, as they were so loving and beautiful together. It was really a fun afternoon running around the gardens with a bunch of balloons in tow. I really wish the two of you all of the best for the future and I hope that you have a wonderful life together! SugarBean Cake - Spring Inspired Wedding Cake At the Oakfield Farm Winter Wedding Expo, I met a really amazing lady called Jade, who owns the company SugarBean Cakes. We hit it off immediately, maybe this is cause she fed me the most delicious cupcake I have ever had! After chatting for a bit she mentioned that she needed some photos of her Spring inspired cake for an advert. As I love meeting and working with new suppliers I jumped at the opportunity! Jade organized a beautiful garden scene for us and we spent the morning photographing her exquisite cake. It was an absolute pleasure photographing her delicate piping and hand painted floral work! Jade from SugarBean Cakes is an amazing and talented lady, and now supplies all of the cupcakes for our boudoir ladies. Looking forward to working with you more Jade! This weekend was the huge Wedding expo at the North Gate Dome! Although I decided not to exhibit, I went through with my friend Shelley Burt to meet some new people. What an experience, the queue to get in on Saturday was pretty long and it was really busy inside. I do hope that all of the exhibitors had a great weekend, and that all of the couples got to meet a few suppliers.
Now that the dome expo is done, we have a few others coming up, which are a bit smaller but still awesome! The first of which is the Avianto showcase on the 22nd of April. This is always a huge success and a little less crazy than the Dome. We will be there exhibiting, so dont forget to visit us! You get to see the venue too and it really is one of my favourites to photograph! The thing I love most about photography is my clients, and this extends from both the wedding photography to the boudoir photography. Sometimes people think it is strange that we specialise in a specific area, but it takes a lot of time and patience to develop the skills to do the photography. I am specialising in two area's that are very close to my heart .... Wedding photography, as I just love the romance and detail of a wedding day. It is one of the most challenging forms of photography as we need to deal with what you have on the day. This could be bad weather to changing light conditions or even strange events happening during the day. Boudoir photography is my other love, as I believe all women are beautiful and can boost their self image but seeing themselves looking sensual, glamourous and beautiful. The reason I am mentioning this in this post, is, when Robyn came to our boudoir marathon, I immediately thought that this is a different and exciting lady to work with. Not many people are comfortable to sit in their lingerie outside, but Robyn was! There was an awesome hole in the wall outside which I was dying to photograph, with lots of help from our MUA Shandre (who held the reflector) and Shelley (who was shooting with me) we got amazing photographs. The way we had to photograph this was definitely not traditional boudoir, and it was dealing with the same conditions for a wedding. Great thinking out of the box ladies, and dealing with the different situation! Not satisfied there, Robyn was ready to give us sultry attitude and even was prepared to do implied nude photography. What a stunning lady to work with, I hope to work with you again! July is going to be an amazing month for us at Chantal Drummond Photography! There are so many exciting things coming. We will announce our Engagement shoot winner on the first of July ... I am so excited for this as we have many entries and lots of beautiful ladies who would love to win! After that we have a wedding, then a fashion shoot and finishing up a Boudoir shoot.
If you have any comments or feedback regarding our photography, we would love to hear from you! Love to all Chantal XXXX |
